Welcome to the exciting world of gymnastics! BGC's diverse program incorporates all stages and levels for your child's athletic development. Our facility and professional coaches provide a safe, educational, motivational and fun atmosphere for the young athlete to flourish.
Starting at the tender age of 1, with adult assistance, we begin our training. Children are encouraged to interact with others while learning the fundamentals of discipline, patience and self awareness. The program is taught in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere.
Gymnastic training is continued through age 3 with a slow removal of adult support. The children are encouraged to develop their independence.
At age 4, participants graduate to regulation gymnastic equipment. With the teaching of additional skills, our littlest gymnasts become more flexible and coordinated.
When the children reach 6 years of age, they are trained on regulation equipment for their gender. Classes are lengthened to 1 1/2 hours.
The pre-team system is designed to prepare athletes for the step-up to competitive gymnastics. All skills are taught at an advanced level. Classes are extended to 2 hours. Our current level V through Elite gymnastic teams will participate at local, state, regional, national and invitational competitions.
The coaches at BGC are safety certified, professional adults. Each instructor has competition level experience, making them fully qualified to teach all levels and aspects of gymnastics.
Peter Hristov, our director, is a Silver World Championship Medalist and has competed in the 1972 Olympics at Munich. He has won various awards for excellence in coaching, including the USGF Coach-of-the-Year in 1986.
